History - As time passes, the magic takes place

You know the Restaurant Aux Agapes? What more to appreciate it's assets by learning it's history and the people who lived there.

The Beginning

Around 1916, Charles built the home to raise his family then later on sold it to a Mr Vallee. Later on in the 40's he opened and operated the town dairy for 24 years. The family Lecompte took possession at the beginning of the dairy operations. Gisele Deshais Lecompte remembers "We adored the sunsets on the lake and its peacefulness." The Lecompte past the torch to the Edouard Lachapelle family near 1964. "It's a beautiful home, comfortable and was solidly built" retells Ms Henri sister of Ms Lachapelle.

A new beginning

Paul Juneau became proprietor in 1996 and transformed the house to a restaurant. "That's a place for a restaurant" he kept saying. From the basement to the attic everything was re-done. They restored the walls, changed the windows the exterior, the plumbing and updated the electricity. The project was done over a 3 year period. After 4 months due to the lack of time and energy the owner had to close. The restaurant he recalled "was always full and I was working 18 hour days."

The Rebirth

Guylaine Lampron was right away attracted to this dreamy site by the water. In 2002 she became the owner of "Restaurant Aux Agapes". Passionate with meeting people, she adores hosting and entertaining. As an accountant she adds another notch to her belt with this new challenge. Her team and herself not only offer a great meal but also an evening to remember.

The Ball continues

In brief since the construction this place attracks the interests of passer-by's. When noticed we want to go in, visit and take a piece of it with you. Enjoy the breeze from the water while sampling a delicious fondue and a good bottle of wine.
